Young And The Restless spoilers tease Adam Newman's (Mark Grossman) plan may hit a stumbling block. Adam was denied the co-CEO position at Newman Enterprises, thanks to Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle).
Instead, Victoria promoted Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to the role. Adam felt rejected, especially because he helped save the company from Ashland Locke (Robert Newman).
Adam could have walked away, but he wanted to run the company. However, that will never happen as long as Victoria is in charge. So Adam can up with a plan to reunite Victoria with Ashland.
The hope is that Victor will question Victoria's judgment and fire her. Or that Ashland will whisk Victoria far away from Genoa City and all things Newman. Either way, Adam would swoop in and claim the CEO spot. Young And The Restless spoilers speculate this plan can go awry.

Y&R: Will Adam Get Caught?
Adam Newman already laid the groundwork for his plan with the help of Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). The pair planted seeds in the minds of Victoria Newman and Ashland Locke.
Adam gave Ashland hope when he revealed Victoria's conflicting feelings. When Sally spoke to Victoria, she implied that Ashland might have genuine remorse.
Adam and Sally believe they are being subtle, but this plan is certainly not foolproof. Not to mention it goes against what Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wants.
Victor recently had a strategy session with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) to get Ashland to leave permanently. Still, it will not be easy if Ashland thinks he has a chance with Victoria.
Young And The Restless spoilers for the week of May 23 to 27 suggest that Nikki Newman will be pushed to her limits. Then Victor will be forced to retaliate. This could certainly pertain to Ashland.

Locke refuses to leave town and will continue to pursue Victoria. If Adam is working behind the scenes to encourage Ashland, that will spell trouble. Victor always seems to know when Adam is up to no good. This time may not be any different.
Of course, there are other ways this plan can tank. Victoria may not take the bait. After all of Ashland's lies and schemes, it would be almost impossible to trust him again.
There is also a chance that Victoria and Ashland can catch on to Adam and Sally's manipulations. The worst-case scenario is that Victor will bust Adam on Young And The Restless.
Will Adam's Gamble Pay Off on Young and the Restless?
If Adam's plan works, he will get to run Newman Enterprises, and Sally will run Newman Media. They would become the ultimate power couple.

Still, Adam may have to become co-CEO with Nikki. That would be an unlikely pairing. So unless Nikki walks away, Adam will have an obstacle to face. Another outcome is that Victor would let Victoria keep the position even if she goes back to Ashland.
Still, Victor could figure out what Adam and Sally were doing. There is no doubt Victor would be livid with his wayward son.
The last thing in the world that he wants is for Victoria to reunite with Ashland. After all, Victor shelled out 500 million dollars to remove Ashland from Victoria's life. Not to mention it was Adam's idea. Adam could lose it all on The Young And The Restless.
