Victor took steps to prove his suspicions of his son-in-law. Michael Baldwin (Christian Leblanc) is gathering intel on Ashland in Peru. Victor asked Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) to spy on Locke at work as well.
Victor will enlist another recruit in his battle against the Locke-Ness monster. Y&R spoilers for the week of February 21 to 25 reveal Victor will turn to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). The good doctor may be useful in exposing Ashland's big lie.

Y&R: Victor Gets the Upper Hand
Victor Newman has suspected that Ashland Locke has faked his illness. He hired Michael Baldwin to investigate Locke's ties to the clinic in Peru — the very clinic where he received the lifesaving treatment.
Y&R spoilers for the week of February 21 to 25 tease Michael will report damaging information on Locke. Perhaps Ashland was never sick at all.
Now Victor will plan Ashland's downfall. Young and the Restless spoilers for the week suggest Victor will confide in Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Adam also knows there is something brewing between Locke and Victor.

Ashland Locke had a ruthless reputation that earned him the nickname Locke-Ness Monster. He started his empire by stealing an inheritance from a woman who mentored him.
His real name is not even Ashland Locke. He stole the identity of a friend. That said, it would come as no surprise that he would fake an illness to gain control of Newman Enterprises.

However, Ashland may have made a critical error going after Victor's legacy. Perhaps Ashland believed Victor would not be on top of his game since he retired as CEO of Newman Enterprises.
Ashland may have targeted Victoria, thinking she would be an easy mark. However, you can't expect to get away with attacking Victor's legacy or family on The Young and the Restless.
