It looks like the long wait is finally over for avid fans of Ashland Locke's character on Y&R as actor Richard Newman takes over soon. The veteran actor confirmed his first appearance on the series is on February 9.
It's bittersweet news for some viewers of the show. While Newman makes a great addition to the CBS soap, Richard Burgi's exit is equally a great loss.
Previously, the former General Hospital actor confirmed that he was booted from Young and the Restless due to the show's COVID-19 safety protocol violation. Burgi made it clear that he respects and accepts their decision despite his firing.

It seems the new Ashland Locke is already fond of Victoria Newman (Amelia Newman). The Y&R actor has nothing but good words about his co-star, with whom he will likely work closely the most.

There were also photos of Newman with Amelia Heinle, marking the first time for Victoria and the new Ashland to be together. It's clear that the two have strong chemistry. It'll be interesting to see them in more scenes together soon.
So far, it's still unknown if Ashland will still be romantically involved with Victoria. The current Mr. Locke has yet to be officially written off the show, so it's hard to say how the story will transition.
