Young and the Restless spoilers tease Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will be taking over daddy duties. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) stepped up for baby Dominic in Chance's absence. The billionaire babysitter has spent time bonding with his biological son, but that will soon change.
Y&R spoilers for December suggest Devon will hand over the baby to Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and her husband, Chance, upon their return. Dominic's parents will be thrilled to see him. The couple will be anxious to spend time together as a family. Where will that leave Devon?
Mr. Hamilton has spent a lot of time caring for the baby. Devon had expressed his anger at Chance for leaving Abby alone so long, especially when the couple planned to have the baby.
Abby was left to go through the process without her husband. She relied heavily on Devon, and he became the baby whisperer. Now that Chance is home, Devon's role will be diminished. Hamilton may get a taste of what Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is feeling on Young and the Restless.
Young and the Restless: Chance Causes Resentment?
It's no secret that Mariah struggled with strong maternal feelings for Dominic. Ms. Copeland was hurt and jealous that Abby asked Devon to care for the baby when she left town.
Now that Abby has her husband home, she may want time for family bonding. That would leave Mariah and Devon on the sidelines.
Mariah had taken a step back from the baby, yet she still feels a strong attachment to Dominic. Her subsequent offers of help have been rebuffed to her dismay.

With Chance's return, Mariah's only role in the baby's life will be godmother. That will certainly increase Mariah's bitterness.
Devon is equally attached to Dominic. The difference is his mental health is not as fragile as Mariah's. However, Devon may also be pushed aside.
Although Devon donated the sperm, Chance is Dominic's father. That's an idea Devon will have to come to terms with. It may not be so easy for Devon. So he may resent Chance for taking over as Dominic's father on Young and the Restless.
Will Abby Have Her Happy Family on Y&R?
Abby will be overjoyed to have Chance home. Young and the Restless December spoilers tease Abby will go all out with a homecoming celebration.
Yet, Abby and Chance will have to adjust to reality. Chance will have to get used to having a baby. Also, there is the fact that his family could be in danger.

Although his job provided security for Chance and his family, he will still be worried. Not to mention that Chance has survivor's guilt. His first instinct was to complete his mission and find the people responsible for the explosion.
Abby had to convince him to come home. Will he still feel the urge to complete the mission?
It is also possible that Chance may suffer from trauma caused by his undercover work. That may affect his relationship with Abby and the baby.
So Chance may need some time to settle into a happy, normal life with Abby and Dominic on Young and the Restless. Devon will certainly keep a watchful eye on Dominic in the meantime.
