Ashland came to Genoa City to sell a media division. While conducting business, he became close with Victoria. When Victoria learned Ashland was dying, she suggested they merge companies.
Victoria also rushed into marriage due to Ashland's impending death. Y&R viewers have long had suspicions of Locke's terminal condition. It turns out they may have a good reason.
Ashland may have targeted Victoria and Newman Enterprises. Victoria may have played right into his hands.
Young And The Restless predictions imply that Ashland has been faking his illness. Further rumors suggest that Locke will be carted off in handcuffs.
Perhaps Ashland believed that he would get away with yet another crime. After all, if he faked an illness for a business gain, that would be a fraud. It was foolish of Ashland to go up against Victor Newman on Y&R.

The Fallout From Ashland's Ruse on Y&R?
Victor will be safe in the knowledge that he saved his legacy. However, Victoria will be devastated and humiliated. Maybe Ashland will convince his wife to stand by his side.
On the other hand, Victoria may shun Ashland and side with Victor. Either way, Victoria will be put in a difficult position.

Even Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) may end up in Victoria's good graces. Victoria may see Nick was right to be suspicious of her husband. Plus, she will need her brother.
Victoria may be one of the few who will suffer if Ashland goes to prison. Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) may suffer some consequences as well. Ashland befriended the doctor, but it may have been part of his plan. It seems that Ashland will burn bridges on his way to prison on The Young And The Restless.
