General Hospital spoilers reveal that Chloe Lanier will reprise her role as Nelle Benson on the ABC soap. Lanier gave fans a thrill when she posted a picture on her Instagram account that appeared to be taken at the GH studios.
Additionally, the upcoming issue of Soap Opera Digest confirmed the actress' return. When Nelle was last seen, she fell off a cliff after being chased by Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
Nelle's body was positively identified by Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard). Still, General Hospital fans know that death is not necessarily permanent on soaps.
Chloe's character certainly bought her fair share of damage in Port Charles. Will she continue her reign of terror on GH?
Nelle Benson's return will probably come with revenge. Carly would be at the top of the list. She may want to wreak havoc in Michael Corinthos' (Chad Duell) life as well.
Nelle is Wiley Corinthos' (Viron Weaver) biological mother. She went to great lengths to keep him from his father. Maybe she will try to kidnap her son. There is no telling the amount of chaos that Nelle could cause at General Hospital.

General Hospital: Nelle's Family Connections
One of the greatest regrets of Nina Reeves' (Cynthia Watros) life is not knowing Nelle Benson was her daughter until after she supposedly died. She believes that Nelle may have turned out to be a better person if she was able to be a mother to her.
Yet Nelle may harbor resentment toward Nina. Perhaps she is back to stir up trouble for her mother. Nina doesn't know that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) is Nelle's twin sister. Will the truth come out soon?
There is no love lost between Nelle and Willow. Ms. Tait would be stunned to learn that she is her twin. But that would only come out when Carly reveals the truth.
Maybe Willow will need a bone marrow transplant down the line. Would her twin sister be an ideal match? Imagine Michael's dilemma if he found himself indebted to Nelle for saving his wife and unborn child on General Hospital.

Is She Really Alive?
The storyline potential for Nelle Benson could be abundant. There would be a lot of explaining to do if she shows up in town. Also, Lanier did reveal that her return to the ABC soap is temporary.
GH spoilers for the week of September 5 to 9 imply that Nelle will make her first appearance. Is she really alive? Or is it all just a flashback?
Another possibility is that Nelle Benson will appear in a dream or a hallucination. Maybe Nina will dream of having a mother/daughter moment with her.
Or maybe Carly's consciousness will get the better of her. She is keeping the secret that Willow is Nina's daughter too. Nelle could appear to scold Carly for keeping her from Nina.
Nelle Benson could turn out to be a figment of the imagination. Yet the story would be juicier if she was really alive on General Hospital.
