General Hospital spoilers tease that Ava Jerome's (Maura West) life hangs in the balance. She barely survived a grisly attack with a hook. If it weren't for Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), Ava would have died on the spot.
However, the pair were able to apply pressure to Ava's wound and call for help. She survived surgery and is in ICU. However, she has not woken up yet.
Ava Jerome is a tough woman, and if anyone can survive this, she can. GH spoilers for the week of August 29 to September 2 reveal that her loved ones will fear for her life.
Of course, there's the mystery as to who is the culprit. There is a long list of suspects who want her gone. Who tried to murder Ava on General Hospital?

GH: Who Attacked Ava?
Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) has her work cut out for her to find the guilty party. The list of suspects is long on General Hospital. Mason (Nathanyael Grey) decided to take care of Ava Jerome because she heard an incriminating conversation with Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth).
Then there is Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). He sees her as a growing threat to the family and would have no qualms about eliminating her.
Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas A. Chavez) drank himself into a stupor after Ava blurted out that Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) slept with his girlfriend. Both father and son were pretty angry at her.

Even Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) could be a suspect. Liz has been acting very strangely. She lost a chunk of time and has unexplained injuries. Could Elizabeth have done the unspeakable on General Hospital?
Of course, Ava has more sinister enemies. There is the twisted Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), who is the daughter of the notorious serial killer Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom).
She hated Esme even before the young woman slept with Nikolas. The two women argued, and Esme fell off the parapet at Wyndermere. Although Nikolas and Ava assumed Esme had died, nobody was ever found. Perhaps Esme returned to rid the world of Ava Jerome on General Hospital.
Could Ryan Be the Culprit on General Hospital?
Ryan is not only deranged, but he is also obsessed with Ava. He has committed heinous murders over the years, including Ava's daughter Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin).
Ava has taunted Ryan several times while he was in prison. Then she fell in love and married another man. To make matters worse, she was there when Esme fell to her so-called death.

Although Ava does not know Esme's connection to Ryan, it will not matter to him. Ryan could have wanted to avenge his daughter. Since he is faking his medical condition, no one would suspect him.
So Ryan could have slipped in and out of prison and attacked Ava. Whoever did it is still on the loose. She could still be in danger on General Hospital.
