'Counting On': Is This Duggars' 'Damage Control' Stunt After Josh Arrest?

Counting On fans think the Duggars just did a publicity stunt to divert the attention away from Josh Duggar. The TLC stars have been hit with controversies after Josh's latest arrest.

But instead of laying low on social media amid the scandal, the Duggars did what some think was a "damage control" stunt. Were they trying to distract fans? Or was it merely a coincidence?

Counting On: The Duggars Face Backlash Over Latest  Move

In a Reddit post, a Counting On fan shared that the family just uploaded Jed Duggar and Katey Nakatsu's engagement video. The move came shortly after Josh Duggar's latest arrest.

The sudden upload of Jed and Katey's engagement video didn't sit well with some of their fans. Apparently, they think the timing is a bit off considering the issues the family is facing at the moment. Some are convinced that it's a form of "damage control" as the family was somehow negatively affected by Josh's scandal.

The video was immediately flooded by criticism, linking it to Josh Duggar's controversy. Needles to say, the Counting On family got called out pretty hard. It got so bad that the video is now set to "unlisted" and has comments turned off.

The Duggars Immediately Removed the Video

Counting On fans won't be able to see the engagement video of Jed Duggar and Katey Nakatsu on the family's YouTube channel anymore. However, the family's official website still has the video posted. When clicked, it's going to redirect the user to the YouTube site of the video where it's posted as "unlisted".

The family also turned off the comments section of the video. Meanwhile, some of the Duggar kids also disabled comments on Instagram, except for Jill Dugga.

In one of her recent posts, fans praised her for being open to the public. Jill also shared a little story about praying for a good community. According to her, people will always need to support each other, especially during a struggling time.

Counting on Fans Think Some Duggar Kids Take Advantage of Controversy

A Counting On fan page on Instagram is calling out some of the Duggars for taking advantage of their recent controversy. Kendra Duggar, in particular, has been posting paid ads on her Instagram Stories. Many find it inappropriate that she still promotes stuff online despite their recent troubles.

There were also claims that the Duggars are just trying to squeeze in some extra income as they might get canceled soon. At this point, TLC has yet to reveal if they're going to ax the show for good.
