Bold and the Beautiful recasts the role of Taylor Hayes with actress Krista Allen. She is best known for playing Billie Reed on Days Of Our Lives. Now, Krista has stepped quite nicely into the shoes of the renowned psychiatrist Taylor Hayes on B&B. Yet, there was a time the actress thought her acting career was over.
Krista revealed a frightening experience while on the Soap Opera Digest podcast, Dishing With Digest. She recalled working on the series Baywatch: Hawaii and how "they weren't really into sunscreen." Krista revealed she developed skin cancer on her face years later.
Bold and the Beautiful's Krista Allen Triumphs
Allen explained she developed a "weird growth" on the left side of her nose. When she went to get looked at, she found out it was skin cancer. Krista explained, "I had to get a Mohs surgery, and they had to take, I think it was 16 layers down to dig out."
She further revealed the cancer removal dug in so deep that she needed reconstructive surgery. They took a part of her cheek and sewed it to her nose. Krista praised the amazing job they did. However, she admitted it was scary and believed her acting career was over.
Not knowing if life would ever be "normal" again, Krista Allen embarked on something new. She began to write and really enjoyed it.

Krista stated "I really enjoyed comedy writing. That took me to a completely different place for me." She went on to say that her situation could have been "horrible," but it wasn't.
The Bold and the Beautiful star found a skill she didn't know she had. Krista summed up her experience by saying, "You can look at something as it's just the worst thing in the world, or you can find the blessing within it. And I think that's a really important thing in your mindset, and in life."
In the end, Krista Allen imparted some important reminders. "Wear that damn sunscreen. It's so important," she reiterated.
Krista Takes on Taylor Hayes
Taylor Hayes is back on Bold and the Beautiful after a three-year absence. She has reconnected with her children and her ex-husband Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye).
Taylor will be busy protecting her family from Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown). Furthermore, she will tangle with her rival Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).
