Hope has been a stable influence on Douglas. Thomas has not always been able to provide that. However, he is in a better place in his life now. He is ready to have full custody of Douglas.

Hope will say that Douglas is happy living with her. Then she will beg Thomas to leave Douglas where he is.
However, Thomas is determined to have his son live with him now. Of course, he will be grateful for the love and care that Hope has provided for Douglas. But Thomas will tell Hope that she had to know this day would always come.

Douglas recently told his father that he does not see him enough. Thomas was struck when Douglas wondered if Thomas misses him when he is not around.
