'90 Day Fiance': Juliana and Michael's Prenup Drama – What Happens Now?

90 Day Fiance stars Michael Jessen and Juliana Custodio officially pulled the plug on their marriage. The TLC couple confirmed their shocking separation earlier this week, just in time for their second wedding anniversary.

Juliana and Michael's split has raised so many questions about their future as they go their separate ways. One of the biggest issues they're about to face is their prenuptial agreement — or lack thereof.

90 Day Fiance: Michael Jessen and Juliana Custodio Call It Quits

Michael Jessen and Juliana Custodio are the latest 90 Day Fiance cast members to call it quits. The fan-favorite couple shocked everyone after confirming the sad news on Instagram.

Michael was first to announce the separation in a lengthy emotional post. The wine business owner claimed his marriage with Juliana was hit hard by the pandemic.

However, Juliana refuted it, claiming there's more to it than COVID-19. The 90 Day Fiance celeb revealed their family went through a hard time financially, and Michael took it hard.

Juliana Custodio claimed she supported Michael Jessen and his family financially. But the situation took a toll on her. The Brazilian model said it became too much for her to handle. It also doesn't help that she's allegedly treated poorly by Michael Jessen.

"I wasn't part of the family anymore. I was feeling like a maid," she added. "It was toxic to a point I was not living the life I wanted to live."

Did Michael and Juliana Sign a Prenup?

Many are now wondering what will happen should they decide to legally end their marriage and file for divorce. Ever since their debut on 90 Day Fiance, the topic of getting a prenuptial agreement has been a hot topic for them.

Prior to their wedding, Michael and Juliana seek the help of a mediator to discuss the possibility of a prenup. Michael, who has a "solid stream of income" at the time, wants to keep things "very separate."

However, as risky as it sounds, the 90 Day Fiance couple did not get a prenuptial agreement. "No prenup. It doesn't make sense. It's stupid," Michael told Juliana at the time. "No matter what happens, you're going to be OK, and the kids are going to be fine."

90 Day Fiance: Will Juliana Get Michael's Money or Vice-versa?

Unfortunately, Michael Jessen and Juliana Custodio's marriage hit a roadblock. Now that the 90 Day Fiance couple has separated, supposedly with no prenup, what happens next?

In Connecticut, assets are divided using an "equitable property." Basically, "only the marital assets are divided on an equitable basis, and the non-marital assets, like a gift or an inheritance, or which you had before you were married and kept separate."

However, the court retains the discretion as to the percentage of division, spousal support, and child support, if applicable. They will also divide their debts.

It is worth noting that the 90 Day Fiance stars have yet to confirm whether or not they signed a prenup. Things can still pretty much change depending on their agreement. Head back to Showbiz Army for more updates.
