'90 Day Fiance': Jon Walters Goes on Hiatus as Visa Remains up in the Air

90 Day Fiance alum Jon Walters continues to fight hard for his spousal visa. The TLC star and his wife, Rachel Bear Walters, patiently await the results of their application, trying their best to be optimistic about it as much as possible.

And while it's currently progressing well, the long wait and tedious work may have taken a toll on the couple. Jon, in particular, decided to distance himself from social media, sparking speculations that things are not going according to plan.

90 Day Fiance: Jon Walters Takes Social Media Break

Looks like Jon Walters is done with the harsh world of social media — at least for now. The 90 Day Fiance star recently announced that he will be disconnecting himself online.

On Wednesday, Rachel Walters' husband said he is "taking a social media break." Jon gave no further explanation as to what prompted his decision, which led fans to believe that he's going through tough times lately.

Jon Walters' decision to take a breather from social media came amid his ongoing spousal visa application. Many 90 Day Fiance fans couldn't help but wonder if his visa status has something to do with his latest hiatus.

Jon's Visa Journey Continues

It's no secret that Jon and Rachel Walters have resorted to the spousal visa route after ditching the K-1 visa process. However, the 90 Day Fiance couple has been struggling to get approved for at least three years now.

Jon's initial application was instantly denied because his "criminal conviction" in the past "looks bad on paper." But the couple said it didn't surprise them at all.

Jon and Rachel Walters somehow expected the decision even before proceeding with the application. The 90 Day Fiance couple managed to prepare for it beforehand, enabling them to proceed with the alternative step immediately.

Shortly after getting rejected, Rachel and Jon applied for a waiver and were approved earlier than expected. They are now awaiting the final results within six to nine months.

Rachel Walters Insists Moving to UK Is Not an Option

Meanwhile, Rachel Walters has been getting questions about possibly moving to the UK instead. Apparently, some 90 Day Fiance fans think it's the better option, given Jon Walters' visa struggles.

However, Rachel reiterated that there is no other way but for Jon to move to America. "I have said it from the start, Jon moving here is the only option," she added.

Rachel Walters has been very open about the reason why she doesn't consider migrating to the UK. The 90 Day Fiance mom shares custody with an ex-partner for her eldest daughter Ella.

Rachel doesn't want to abandon her daughter nor have her separated from her dad. Jon respects and supports this decision, which many find admirable.

For now, the couple continues to deal with their long-distance marriage. Hopefully, they will be able to reunite for good soon.
