90 Day Fiance alum Geoffrey Paschel has been officially sentenced after being convicted of kidnapping and assaulting his ex-fiancee in October 2021.
Varya Malina's partner has been in custody since last year when he was found guilty of all charges filed against him. Here's what went down in the courtroom.
90 Day Fiance: Geoffrey Paschel Sentenced 18 Years of Jailtime
On Thursday, February 3, Geoffrey Paschel was sentenced to 18 years in prison. This is after the 90 Day Fiance alum was convicted of "Aggravated Kidnapping, Domestic Assault, and Interference with Emergency Calls."
The 44-year-old reality star, who was wearing a striped jail uniform, looked gloomy as he attempted to convince the court to give him leniency in making the verdict. But Geoffrey's tears and emotional plea were not enough to change Judge Kyle Hixson's decision. He's been ordered to serve eighteen years in prison without the possibility of parole.
Despite the verdict, Geoffrey Paschel maintains his innocence. In a statement released by his lawyer, Greg Isaacs, he revealed that the 90 Day Fiance star would push for an appeal to prove that he's not guilty.
"Geoffrey Paschel continues to maintain his innocence and intends to file a motion for a new trial in the very near future," Geoffrey's attorney added. "Afterward, our firm intends to pursue an appeal on Geoffrey Paschel's behalf."

What Went Down at the Courtroom?
Emotions ran high inside the courtroom as Geoffrey Paschel got his sentencing. The 90 Day Fiance star was accompanied by his family, including his sons, Varya Malina, and his ex-girlfriend Mary Wallace.
Although all eyes were on Geoffrey, Mary still drew some attention to herself. Apparently, she has been "removed" from the courtroom for her supposed "audible responses" to the witness testimony. Sure enough, Mary was no longer sitting on her row for the rest of the hearing.
Varya Malina also had her moment during Geoffrey Paschel's sentencing day. The 90 Day Fiance star excitedly prepared a suit for him, confident that he would not be wearing "stripes" on the day of the verdict.
However, her request was not granted, which isn't surprising at all. Varya ended up hanging the grey suit on the courtroom's bench.

90 Day Fiance: Varya Malina Breaks Her Silence After Geoffrey's Sentencing
Shortly after Geoffrey Paschel's 18-year jailtime verdict, Varya Malina broke her silence on social media. The 90 Day Fiance star was clearly sad and disappointed about the outcome.
She also revealed that Geoffrey's sentencing coincided with his late son's birthday. Varya took to her Instagram and shared an emotional video of herself with a birthday cake for Kazhem, Geoffrey's deceased son.
The 90 Day Fiance star dramatically looked up before putting out the lighted candle with her fingers. "Sweet baby boy Kazhem would have celebrated his 5th birthday today," Varya captioned the post.
Varya goes on to say that Geoffrey will come out stronger after all the challenges, adding that they will seek an appeal.
"To be honest, we didn't expect much from this sentencing. 18 years?" the 90 Day Fiance alum noted. "Alright, we passed the bottom, that means there's only one way — up! The grounds for the appeal became even stronger. Meanwhile, the sky is still crying. I believe it's because one little angel is very upset."
