Young and the Restless spoilers predict Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) may lose close friends. Hamilton recently approached Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). He wants shared custody of baby Dominic Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).
Dom's parents turned down Devon's request. Abby visited Devon to explain her decision. She feels that her family needs time to bond. Dominic has a father, and that is Chance.
Abby reminded Devon that he agreed to be a sperm donor only. However, Abby's path to parenthood had unexpected trusts and turns. So Devon was heavily involved in the pregnancy, birth, and care of little Dominic.
Devon developed a strong bond with the baby that he can not deny. Young and the Restless spoilers for January reveal that Devon will not back down. After Hamilton witnessed a close moment between Chance and the baby, his mind was made up.
Devon informed Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) that he wanted to fight for legal custody of his "son". Dominic may share DNA with Devon, but does that make him Dominic's dad on Young and the Restless?
Young and the Restless: Who Is Right, Devon or Abby?
Devon signed a contract giving up his parental rights to Abby and Chance's baby. Yet Chance was off risking his life throughout the conception, delivery, and the first months of Dominic's life.
Additionally, Chance could be suffering from trauma that makes it difficult to bond with his child. Devon is concerned about Chance's influence over Dominic.
Abby did not help matters when she dropped the baby off at Devon's to search for Chance in Spain. Even though Dominic was in good hands, no one knew where Abby was. That time with the baby cemented the bond for Devon.
Although Abby relied heavily on Devon, he has known from the start he was meant to be a donor and a godfather. Now that Devon has decided to seek custody, Abby and Chance will not be happy.

Nonetheless, Devon has Amanda firmly in his corner. Young and the Restless spoilers for the week tease Devon and Amanda will strategize over the case. Amanda will feel Devon has a legal right to the baby. It appears that both sides are in for a fight on Y&R.
Is Devon's Friendship With Abby and Chance Over on Y&R?
Devon wants legal shared time with Dominic. Abby wants Chance to have the time and space needed to bond with the baby. Abby will suggest that Chance get professional help. That is a great idea, but it probably will not sway Devon.
Young and the Restless spoilers for the week of January 17 to 21 divulge that Devon will give Abby a reality check. Perhaps Devon will announce his intentions to go to court.
