Phyllis and Jack were headed for romance but decided to remain friends. Then Diane came to Genoa City. Phyllis turned up the heat, much to Jack's pleasure.

Phyllis was incensed to learn that Diane was behind Jack meeting his granddaughter. Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) did not appreciate being a pawn in Diane's games.
Young And The Restless spoilers for the week of May 30 to June 3 suggest that Diane will attempt to befriend Allie. Maybe she is looking for a way to get close to Jack. Phyllis' actions may make it easier for Diane to do just that.
