Young And The Restless spoilers know the details of Rey Rosales' (Jordi Vilasuso) death do not add up. Of course, we only have Ashland Locke's (Robert Newman) version of what happened.
However, Ashland is not exactly known for being truthful. Ashland claimed he followed Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) when she took a drive to clear her head. He was worried about her because she was visibly upset.
Also, the driving conditions were hazardous due to the intense fog. Victoria saw headlights coming at her and swerved into a tree. Rey was the driver. Rosales sideswiped Ashland.
Unfortunately, Rey's car rolled over into a ditch, and Rey died at the scene. Ashland claimed Rey was driving erratically and veered into Victoria's lane, which caused the accident.
Y&R spoilers for the week of April 25 to 29 reveal that Ashland will make a promise to Victoria. Will Ashland promise to protect Victoria on Young And The Restless?
Y&R: Who Caused the Accident?
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) told Ashland Locke that he was grateful that Victoria was saved. Yet Victor Newman also accused Ashland of causing the accident to play the hero.
Locke is a calculating man and has done much worse. If he did cause the accident with that in mind, it might have worked. Victoria is now seeing Ashland in a different light. Or Ashland may have a different reason for lying about the accident.
Ashland knows how much pain he has caused Victoria. Perhaps Victoria is to blame for the accident. She was wiping tears from her eyes and talking to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) on speakerphone when she crashed into a tree. What if Victoria was the one who veered into Rey's lane?
Ashland may want to spare Victoria from more pain. Victoria already feels like she is responsible for the crash. However, Ashland keeps blaming Rey. Ashland may be protecting Victoria on Young And The Restless.
Ashland Story Has Holes on Young and the Restless
Rey Rosales knew the weather was going to be bad for driving. He and Sharon Newman Rosales (Sharon Case) discussed the fact that Rey was going to spend the night in Chicago. It would be too dangerous to drive back in thick fog.
Then Sharon and Chelsea had a conversation about what a cautious driver Rey was. Not to mention that Ashland claimed to be driving behind Victoria. Visibility was so bad that Victoria did not see the headlights of the other car until they were right up on her.
How could Ashland tell that Rey was driving erratically? Was there something in the road that Rey was trying to avoid? Ashland's version of events is all there is.
Still, the police have to do an investigation. Y&R spoilers for the week of April 25 to 29 tease that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will make a stunning discovery. Will Chance find evidence at the crash site? Ashland could be caught in another lie on The Young And The Restless.
