However, Ashland's past almost derailed the couple's plans. It turns out that Ashland took over his deceased friend's identity. Then he forged a will to gain a fortune. Ashland used that ill-gotten fortune to build his business empire. Along the way, he earned the nickname of the Locke-Ness monster. Despite the many twists and turns Ashland and Victoria seem happily married. Not to mention he is receiving successful treatments for his cancer. Yet Ashland may be hiding his dark side. Young and the Restless – Recast With A Beloved Soap Vet
Soap Opera Digest reported that the role of Ashland Locke will be recast with soap vet, Robert Newman. Newman is best known for playing Joshua Lewis on The Guiding Light. He was with the soap from 1981 until 2009. However, Newman took time off in those years and had roles in Santa Barbara and General Hospital. The character of Joshua Lewis was famously in love with Reva Shayne (Kim Zimmer).
Josh and Reva, were childhood sweethearts who reunited in Springfield. They had a decades-long, tumultuous relationship Despite, cheating, presumed deaths, and a Reva clone, the pair always found their way back to one another. Now Robert Newman is bringing his talents to The Young And The Restless.
Locke-Ness Monster Double Cross On Y&R
Y&R spoilers for January suggest Ashland will show why he earned his nickname. Spoilers tease Ashland will pull a fast one on Victoria and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Perhaps Ashland's illness and his marriage were just a ploy. Was getting his hands on Newman Enterprises Ashland's endgame? If so he can expect to do battle with the mighty Victor Newman.

Perhaps Ashland will make a move soon against the Newmans. Y&R spoilers for the week of January 17 to 21 reveal Victor will not budge on something to preserve his legacy. There are also rumors that Ashland will leave town once Richard Burgi vacated the role. Whether he leaves in triumph or defeat remains to be seen, if he leaves at all. One thing is certain, Ashland will be a presence in Genoa City. Also that Ashland will have a new face when Robert Newman assumes the role. Newman is expected to be seen next month on The Young And The Restless.
