Phyllis never believed that Diane was a changed woman. Yet Jack was willing to give Diane the benefit of the doubt. Then Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) arrived in Genoa City. Diane felt the walls closing in and confessed to Jack.

Phyllis Summers has always been protective of Jack Abbott. Red tried to warn him about Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Jack was dating Sally at the time and took her side. However, he apologized to Phyllis when Sally's schemes were exposed.
Now, Jack had to admit to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) that Phyllis was right again. Diane has worked her way into the Abbott family and has forged a relationship with her son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Kyle felt it was safe for Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) to know his grandma. Diane even made inroads with Jack. All of these irritated Phyllis, especially because her daughter, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier), is Kyle's wife.
Young And The Restless October spoilers suggest it is only a matter of time before Phyllis learns that Diane lied about her past in LA. Red already suspects that something big went down between Jack and Diane.
