Young and the Restless has seen cast members come and go. While some of them leave permanently, others exit on a temporary basis.
Lately, many have noticed that Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) hasn't been that visible on the show. Many are now wondering what she's been up to. Here's what we know so far.
Young and the Restless: Where's Allie Nguyen?
It looks like Young and the Restless fans will see less of Allie Nguyen. Kelsey Wang's character has been missing in action for the past few weeks.
The last time we saw her was on February 16 episode, where she spent time with Ashley Abbott. Apparently, Allie has been very busy with her full-time job at the lab. That'd explain why she's not around that much.

However, there's probably a bigger reason why the actress is on and off the show lately. There have been reports that Kelsey Wang has been dropped from contract status to recurring status for the foreseeable future. The same goes for her on-screen boyfriend, Rory Gibson (Noah Newman).
The change in status is allegedly part of the budget cuts imposed on Young and the Restless. Previously, it has been reported that Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS, suffered from a revenue drop in its television network division. As a result, the show allegedly makes necessary adjustments to its budget.

There were also reports that executive producer/head writer Josh Griffith handed out pink slips to the entire breakdown writing team. He supposedly made the drastic move as a cost-cutting measure and will take on the writing duties himself.
Will We See More of Her?
Despite the change in status, fans are still hoping to see more of Allie Nguyen and Noah Newman soon. The couple still has a lot of potential storylines.

This isn't the first time Kelsey Wang was put on recurring status in a show. She previously dealt with the same arrangement on General Hospital, where she played the role of Daisy. Apparently, the actress didn't like the setup, so she decided to audition somewhere else.
