Young And The Restless spoilers tease Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) is put in the middle. Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is determined to prove that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was involved in a coverup.
Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) died after Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) punched him. Locke fell, hit his head, and passed away. Although Locke's death was an accident, Victor jumped in to protect Nick and Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle).
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) just learned that Victor arranged for Ashland's death to look like the result of a car accident. While Nikki was not happy to be left out of the loop, she jumped into action.
When Abby stopped by the ranch to see Victoria, Nikki sat her down. Abby realized that Nikki wanted her to get Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) to back off of investigating Ashland's "accident."
Y&R spoilers for the week of August 8 to 12 suggest Abby will talk with Chance. Will Abby try to get her husband to close the case on Young And The Restless?

Y&R: Will Chance Back Down?
Abby has not been part of the Ashland drama, so she will be surprised to learn that Victor is the focus of Chance's investigation. Young And The Restless spoilers for the week of August 8 to 12 divulge that Chance will be reluctant to share details about the case with his wife.
However, Chance will tell Abby his theory on Victor's coverup. Abby will admit that it sounds like something Victor would do. But she will point out that Ashland was an evil man and could have killed Victoria.
Chance will ask Abby if she wants him to drop the case. Abby knows that would not be fair to her husband. Chance has come a long way since he returned to Genoa City. He has come into his own since rejoining the police force.
Not to mention that Chance wants to honor his late partner, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), by being a good cop. That means that Chance will not stop until the truth comes out on Young And The Restless.

Victor Is on Edge on Young and the Restless
After Chance grills Nick and Victoria this week, they will go to see Victor. The Mustache will not be happy that Nikki knows about the coverup. Victor will yell at his "ungrateful" children. After all, Victor was just trying to protect them. But how will Victor feel if he learns that Nikki put pressure on Abby?
Nick and Victoria's attitude already has Chance convinced of Victor's wrongdoing. Nikki putting Abby in a tight spot can only raise his suspicions.

Still, Victor will continue to call Chance's bluff. Y&R spoilers for the week of August 15 to 19 imply that Victor will challenge Chance. Victor knows that Chance does not have proof that he tampered with Ashland's body.
Despite that, it is not likely that Chance will give up. Victor could face the consequences, but so could Nick and Victoria. Abby's loyalties will certainly be tested. Can Chance and Abby's marriage survive the latest Newman crisis on The Young And The Restless?
