'Young and the Restless' Spoilers (Jan 2): Tessa Divorces Mariah – Matt Threatens Nick

Young and the Restless spoilers for Friday, January 2, reveal Tessa Porter's decision to divorce Mariah Copeland. Tessa's relationship with Daniel Romalotti has gotten deeper, and it seems she wants to officially commit to him.

Meanwhile, Mariah experiences visions in which Ian Ward torments her. Nick Newman negotiates with Matt Clark. But Matt counters with his own threats, and he's not willing to cooperate properly.

'Young and the Restless' Matt Threatens Nick

Friday's spoilers of Young and the Restless feature Nick's meeting with Matt. The two are negotiating for the sake of Sienna's safety. Matt tells Nick that he wants five million dollars, texting Noah his bank details.

Nick asks Matt to show proof that Sienna is still alive. "Well then, this is your lucky day," Matt replies, before showing a video of Sienna. However, Matt can't wait for the transaction to complete, threatening Nick that something bad may happen to Sienna if they don't send him the money he wants.

"You send me the five million dollars, within the hour, or I'll send you a very different video of Sienna," he says. Matt heads back to the hotel and talks to Annie. He tells him that he's taking Nick's money, but it's obvious that he's not going to give Sienna and Noah a happy ending.

Tessa Divorces Mariah

Tessa makes one of her biggest decisions in life in Friday's spoilers of Young and the Restless. She runs into Daniel at Crimson Lights. She asks to talk with him privately, and Daniel will wonder if they're about to have "the talk."

Before their discussion begins, Tessa kisses Daniel. She then tells him that she has begun her divorce process with Mariah. "I called a lawyer this morning and started divorce proceedings," she says.

Daniel feels guilty about it, but Tessa will say he has nothing to do with her decision. "Mariah moved on and you gave me the courage to do the same," she adds.

On the other hand, Mariah suffers from a nightmare in which Ian tells her to face her destiny. "You didn't just walk away, you burned it down, for good. Tessa's moved on, and you need to do the same thing for yourself," Ian tells her.

"Let them live the lives they were meant to live, and you can live yours," he adds. Mariah then picks up the photo and tears it up. "I know what I have to do. I'm just so afraid," she replies.
