Young And The Restless spoilers note guilt will eat at Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). When Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) showed up at Victoria Newman Locke's (Amelia Heinle) house, he thought he had nothing else to lose. He was wrong.
After he threatened Victoria, Nick came to her rescue. After a brief struggle with Nick, Locke fell and hit his head on the fireplace hearth. Then Ashland lost his life.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) happened to appear right after Locke's body vanished. Nick immediately suspected Victor had interfered.

Nick needed to know the truth and confronted his father. Victor admitted that Ashland did pass away at Victoria's house. Then Victor's men removed his body.
It was arranged to appear that Ashland had a fatal car accident. Victor believed that his plan to protect his children would work. Still, Victor did not factor in Chance Chancellor's (Conner Floyd) stellar detective skills. Chance and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) have some promising leads in this case.
Young And The Restless spoilers for the week of August 8 to 12 imply that Chance and Kevin will follow up on those leads. Nick knows that Chance is suspicious that Victor arranged a cover-up.

Will Nick Protect Victor on Young and the Restless?
Did Victor jump the gun by staging Ashland's accident? Locke's death was an accident. Yes, Nick punched him and caused his fatal fall. But Nick was protecting his sister, Victoria.
Not to mention that Nick never wanted Ashland to die. Victoria and Nick did the right thing and called Chance right away. The siblings told Chance the truth about the events of the night. Still, Victor felt the need to arrange a cover-up.
