She is Johnny's biological mother. However, Chelsea signed away her parental rights when he was born. The boy was raised by his father, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and adoptive mother, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).
Chelsea became fixated on telling Johnny the truth. Against their better judgment, Victoria and Billy tell Johnny that Chelsea is his real mother.
Johnny was caught off guard and became angry at the news. Y&R spoilers for the upcoming weeks reveal the young boy will continue to resent Billy and Victoria. He will also want nothing to do with Chelsea.

Y&R: Will Chelsea Back Down?
Both Billy Abbott and Victoria Newman have warned Chelsea Lawson to give Johnny his space. Moreover, the parents are alarmed at the role she wants to play in their son's life, especially Victoria.
Johnny knows that Victoria adopted him, and she is the only mother he knows. Now Chelsea seems to want to change that. To make matters worse, she will face more opposition.
Young And The Restless spoilers for the week of October 3 to 7 suggest Chelsea will clash with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Adam was disturbed that Chelsea did not discuss her plans for Johnny with him first.
Adam will be worried about their son, Connor Newnan (Judah Mackey). After all, this news will have a major effect on him. Still, Chelsea seems to have a one-track mind. Perhaps she will overstep if she runs into Johnny on Y&R.

Victor Steps in on Young and the Restless?
Chelsea Lawson's actions will not escape Victor Newman's attention for long. Naturally, he will want to handle any threat to his family.
Chelsea is posed to cause big trouble for Victoria and Victor's grandsons. Maybe Victor will confront Chelsea to put a stop to her plans. But she may remind him that he is the reason Johnny was conceived.

Victor hired Chelsea to seduce Billy so his relationship with Victoria would be destroyed. Chelsea drugged Billy and slept with him. Then she became pregnant with Johnny. All these years later, Victor will have to deal with the consequences of his actions.
