Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden makes an emotional return to his beloved home, which was destroyed by the California wildfires. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Victor Newman portrayer takes in the severity of the tragedy.
Braeden, who had spent 45 years at his residence with his family, can't help but feel deeply affected by the aftermath of the wildfires. "I didn't think it would hit me this much," he admits "I'm devastated."
As he looks at the rubble, the Young and the Restless actor recalls all the memories he and his family had in their home. Braeden reminisces on the special occasions they celebrated there, including his son's high school blowouts and their Christmas gatherings. The award-winning actor calls the loss "indescribable," so much so that he doesn't want his family to see the current state of their property.
Braeden first posted about the wildfires ravaging their area on Thursday, January 9. At the time, he told his followers that he and his family had to abandon their home due to the enroaching threat.
Later, Braeden's Young and the Restless co-star and on-screen son Joshua Morrow (Nick Newman) broke through the barriers and sent him a video of his ravaged house. "It was tough to see," he added. "You think you're tough… and then you see that."
Despite the tragic loss, Braeden remains positive. The veteran actor shares that he and his wife would definitely "rebuild" soon. Braeden previously gushed about the property, noting that he had always wanted to live there ever since he first laid eyes on it.
