Li separated from her husband, Jack Finnegan (Ted King), after his major lie was uncovered. Jack had an affair with Sheila, and she became pregnant with Finn.
Jack arranged Finn's adoption but never revealed that he was Finn's biological father. Li wanted nothing to do with Jack. That point was driven home when Li kept Jack in the dark about Finn's survival.
