However, Abby urged Chance to open up about Devon Hamilton's (Bryton James) custody request. Yet that was not on Chance's mind. Instead, he acknowledged his real feelings of being a father to Dominic Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware).
Chance admitted that he loves Dominic but doesn't know how to be a father. He went on to say that he is not sure he has what it takes to be a good dad.
Although Abby was troubled, she assured Chance that he needed time. Abby is concerned about how Devon's request will affect her husband.

Watching Devon's ease with the baby has to be intimidating. Add in the fact that Chance is struggling from serious trauma. It is not surprising that he is struggling with fatherhood. Yet time and therapy may be what Chance needs to feel like a good father.
So Chance may have to put his foot down with Devon. Abby would certainly support her husband. Maybe Devon should back off and put some distance between himself and Dominic. Chance would be able to adjust to fatherhood if he was not compelled to compare himself to Devon on Young and the Restless.
